Description

Made in Italy.

A must for summer! Pacific is Paraboot's classic woven three strap sandal for men. Made in fine black full-grain leather, leather lined, and cemented to a sporty ripple sole which ensures all-day walking comfort.

Still highly relevant today, the Pacific model was first launched in the fifties. Paraboot developed this model for monks belonging to the Order of Carthusians, whose monastery is located in Saint-Pierre-de-Chartreuse in the heart of the Chartreuse Mountains in the Isère region of France.

Due to spending long hours on their feet while researching plants for them to use in making their Liqueur de Chartreuse – a highly alcoholic liqueur with medicinal properties – but also as part of their pilgrimages, the monks expressed their need for a comfortable, open shoe. The resulting sandal was Paraboot's pacific.

Note. We only ship Paraboot to Europe.

How it's made

Paraboot have been making shoes in France since 1908. Their factory is located in Saint Jean de Moirans, at the foot of the Alps. Here you’ll see cutters, seamstresses and craftsmen’s engrossed in their work – which requires knowhow and concentration. With quick, precise, confident movements, they choose the best part in the skin, cut them and assemble them.

Some Paraboot models are made in Italy, like the Pacific.

The quality of leathers, meticulously selected at tanneries, plays a determining role in the comfort, lifespan and appearance of Paraboot shoes. 77% of the raw materials are from France; they are either French materials or processed in France. With the exception of Cordovan Leather from America, the other leather merchants used are all in Europe. They all comply with the requirements of the various applicable European legislation in force.

Love & Care

Protect your investment

Well before you notice that your shoes are becoming damaged, take the time to take care of them regularly. To do so properly, you’ll need to follow a few simple steps.

Clean

Light cleaning: Use warm water and soft bristle brush to remove stuck-on dirt. Then use a clean, dry cloth to wipe away any remaining excess dirt.

Deep cleaning: For heavily soiled areas, use a good leather cleaner. Wipe the cleaner away with a damp cloth and allow the leather to dry.

Condition

Apply a high quality shoe cream, like Saphir’s creme 1925, with a clean, soft cloth. Shine the boot by brushing with a soft horse-hair brush. This will give much needed moisture to the leather, while giving protection against the elements and added shine.

When using a new product for the first time, we recommend testing shoe creams and conditioners on an inconspicuous part of the shoe before applying it the the rest of the shoe.

Protect

Add extra protection to preserve your footwear. Saphir's Super Invulner spray waterproofs the most delicate leathers, and offers superior protection against water, stains and grease.
