Horse Motif Cowichan cardigan (S)

Cowichan sweaters, traditional cardigans knitted by the Cowichan people of southeastern Vancouver Island, are famous for their distinct geometric and animal patterns. In the 1900s this style became popular among American home knitters, who added patterns showing their hobbies and interests. This cardigan is an 80's factory knit, in acrylic. In other words not a real Cowichan sweater, but it draws its pattern from this tradition, featuring horse-patterns on both front and back.
