Description

Made in France.

The Neuilly is Paraboot's take on the timeless cap toe boot. A classically English proportioned upper, meets the instantly recognisable French rubber Griff sole. Constructed with a watertight Norwegian welt, this is a boot that can easily be dressed up for more formal occasions, but still keep your feet dry on the way there.

Note. We only ship Paraboot to Europe.

How it's made

Paraboot have been making shoes in France since 1908. Their factory is located in Saint Jean de Moirans, at the foot of the Alps. Here you’ll see cutters, seamstresses and craftsmen’s engrossed in their work – which requires knowhow and concentration. With quick, precise, confident movements, they choose the best part in the skin, cut them and assemble them.

The quality of leathers, meticulously selected at tanneries, plays a determining role in the comfort, lifespan and appearance of Paraboot shoes. And, of course, their construction. When new glues and plastic soles were developed in the 30s, most shoe factories switched to gluing soles to lighter uppers, which required less qualified workers and lowered the cost of the shoes. Gluing came with the downside: It lowered the quality and lifespan of the shoes. The old production plants disappeared. Paraboot took a stand, and decided to keep their focus on sturdy quality shoes, with stitched construction, either Goodyear or Norwegian Welt. They are to this day famous for their iconic rubber soles with the characteristic Norwegian Welt construction, and their high quality leather uppers.

77% of the raw materials are from France; they are either French materials or processed in France. With the exception of Cordovan Leather from America, the other leather merchants used are all in Europe. They all comply with the requirements of the various applicable European legislation in force.

Love & Care

Protect your investment

Perspiration and rain are the enemies of leather. A non-varnished cedar shoe tree will absorb any dampness from your shoes, keep their shape and increase their lifetime.

After wearing them, always place your shoes on non-varnished shoe trees and leave them open to the air at room temperature (always away from sources of heat).

In rainy or snowy weather, clean them with a water and a clean cloth to avoid white marks appearing on the upper. If your leather-soled shoes become wet, leave them to dry on their sides to allow the water to run off more easily. In addition, to increase the lifetime of your shoes, we recommend alternating shoes, instead of wearing the same pair several days running.

Well before you notice that your shoes are becoming damaged, take the time to take care of them regularly. To do so properly, you’ll need to follow a few simple steps.

Clean

Light cleaning: Use warm water and soft bristle brush to remove stuck-on dirt. Then use a clean, dry cloth to wipe away any remaining excess dirt.

Deep cleaning: For heavily soiled areas, use a good leather cleaner. Wipe the cleaner away with a damp cloth and allow the leather to dry.

Cleaning salt stains: For salt stained leather, we recommend using Saphir's Winter Stain Remover. And afterwards protecting your shoes with Saphir's Super Invulner Spray to protect them from further stains.

Condition

Apply a high quality shoe cream, like Saphir’s creme 1925, with a clean, soft cloth. Shine the boot by brushing with a soft horse-hair brush. This will give much needed moisture to the leather, while giving protection against the elements and added shine.

When using a new product for the first time, we recommend testing shoe creams and conditioners on an inconspicuous part of the shoe before applying it the the rest of the shoe.

Protect

Add extra protection to preserve your footwear. Saphir's Super Invulner spray waterproofs the most delicate leathers, and offers superior protection against water, snow, stains and grease.
