This intricate design celebrates the pioneering spirit of our founder, weaver Thomas L. Kay, who journeyed from England to America and arrived in Oregon in 1863. It is a tribute to the generations of weavers that have continued his legacy of quality and excellence. The original blanket was discovered recently in a 19th-century European mill and included the designer's notes and calculations, handwritten neatly along the sides. Our modern Pendleton designers viewed this historic work of art with reverence and used it as inspiration for our Journey West jacquard design. The pattern underlines the universal appeal of geometric shapes and lines, images not unlike those seen in Native American art and often used in early Pendleton Trade Blankets. The hooked images seen inside the large diamonds are common symbols of luck and prosperity. This blanket, woven in our American mills, is robe size, the size preferred by Native Americans for ceremonial purposes and wrapping about oneself as a robe. Impressive as a wall hanging and practical when folded on a sofa or at the foot of a bed.

How it's made
You can see and feel the Pendleton passion for quality. See it in the intricate patterns of blankets inspired by Native American designs and legends. Feel it in the softness of the lightweight, luxurious 100% pure virgin wool clothing they produce. Pendleton has been a family-owned business for 150 years, and for 104 of those years they've been weaving world class woolens in our Northwest Mills. Their expertise and technology have grown over the years, and they have translated that experience into a host of other luxury fabrics. But their legacy of quality will never change. You can rely on a Pendleton for a lifetime of comfort and beauty. Made in USA

If you should find yourself dealing with a potential stain, immediately apply a solvent-based stain remover such as eucalyptus oil. Apply it in small amounts, working inwards on the stain to avoid it from spreading.
