Made in Portugal

The Japan Indigo One-Wash Selvage. A new addition to our denim line and a growing item from popular demand. Made from a mid- to -heavy weight denim fabric developed exclusively for Livid by the renowned Japanese fabric mill, Kurabo. This top of the line denim is a one-wash. Meaning, it has gone through a soft pre-washed treatment removing the stiffness, starch and excess indigo from the raw state of the fabric. Another plus, it also removes a lot of the shrinkage you’ll normally get from an unwashed fabric. Soft treatment, but still maintaining those favorable attributes you’ll get from a pair of raw, rigid, untreated pair of jeans. It still fades!

The Japan Indigo One-Wash Selvage is made – as all our denim fabrics - with a dyeing technique called rope dye. A great attribute if you want the jeans of your choice to fade and become more and more unique with wear. When rope dyeing denim yarns the white core of the cotton yarn remains untouched during the dyeing process. With friction and wear as the layers and layers of indigo are worn off the surface of the fabric, the un-dyed core of the cotton yarn will appear, slowly leaving beautiful contrast fading to the surface. Ever tried it yourself? A definite essential for any denim enthusiast!

Machine wash
When it is time to wash your jeans. Turn it inside out and machine wash at 30 degrees celsius for minimal shrinkage. Wash with similar colours without any fabric softener. Do not tumble dry, and be sure to stretch inseams while damp to maintain preferred length. May shrink up to 3% depending on how many degrees.

Stain Removal
Got stains on your garment? There are a few little hacks for making the most of a piece of clothing that’s damaged for good. Vinegar and baking soda are good to add to the washing machine to boost a load, or to use diluted with water as a pre-soak before putting the garment in the washer. For oil and make-up – dish soap is super effective for getting stains out of fabrics of every colour. If it is beyond fixable, stained tees and tank tops can always be used for layering underneath sweaters in the winter, stained jeans can be turned into cut-off shorts, and stained dresses can be layered with a scarf or a sweater.

Dry – or wet bleed
These particular jeans have been pre-washed and will not dry – or wet bleed.
