Description

Made in Spain

Paraboot's boat shoe, Barth. A light and comfortable unlined shoe for spring summer made in a wonderful supple calf suede.

Inspired by the stitching found on Native American moccasins, the Barth features true moccasin construction, meaning that the leather sole is folded up around the foot forming the upper, hand-stitched to the apron giving the classic moccasin toe.

The Moccasin upper is Blake stitched to a slim rubber boat sole, ensuring a light and flexible shoe with good grip on slippery surfaces.

Made in Paraboot's supple velvet calf suede, a calf leather quality which is sanded on the flesh side, opposite of normal suede. This creates a buttery soft suede which at the same time keeps the durability and quality of full grain leather.

Note. We only ship Paraboot to Europe.

How it's made

Paraboot have been making shoes in France since 1908. Their factory is located in Saint Jean de Moirans, at the foot of the Alps. Here you’ll see cutters, seamstresses and craftsmen’s engrossed in their work – which requires knowhow and concentration. With quick, precise, confident movements, they choose the best part in the skin, cut them and assemble them.

Some Paraboot models are made in Spain, like the Barth.

The quality of leathers, meticulously selected at tanneries, plays a determining role in the comfort, lifespan and appearance of Paraboot shoes. 77% of the raw materials are from France; they are either French materials or processed in France. With the exception of Cordovan Leather from America, the other leather merchants used are all in Europe. They all comply with the requirements of the various applicable European legislation in force.

Love & Care

Protect your investment

Well before you notice that your shoes are becoming damaged, take the time to take care of them regularly. To do so properly, you’ll need to follow a few simple steps.

Clean

Light cleaning: Use warm water and soft bristle brush to remove stuck-on dirt. Then use a clean, dry cloth to wipe away any remaining excess dirt.

Deep cleaning: For heavily soiled areas, use a good leather cleaner. Wipe the cleaner away with a damp cloth and allow the leather to dry.

Condition

Apply a high quality shoe cream, like Saphir’s creme 1925, with a clean, soft cloth. Shine the boot by brushing with a soft horse-hair brush. This will give much needed moisture to the leather, while giving protection against the elements and added shine.

When using a new product for the first time, we recommend testing shoe creams and conditioners on an inconspicuous part of the shoe before applying it the the rest of the shoe.

Protect

Add extra protection to preserve your footwear. Saphir's Super Invulner spray waterproofs the most delicate leathers, and offers superior protection against water, stains and grease.
